As you've probably noticed, Parker likes to pull up and/or climb on things. We are engaged in a battle here at the Todd house. The Battle of the Fireplace. Our fireplace has a beautiful stone hearth. It is wonderfully crafted to have that "natural stone" look complete with jagged edges....perfect for an 8 month old to bust their lip, head, mouth, etc. It also, apparently, has a rather strong baby magnet hidden within the mortar. Parker is drawn to it like a bug to a light. Just this evening, I have removed him from the fireplace 9 times in a row. It goes something like this....Parker crawls toward the fireplace. I say (in my stern Mommy voice) "Parker, No! No!" He looks at me and stares. He crawls toward it again, only this time he stops prior to pulling up and looks at me again. I again say "No! No!" He pulls up to his knees. I pop his hand, pick him up, and remove him from the area. He cries. He sits and pouts for approximately 2 seconds. He turns and crawls toward the fireplace. And we start all over again. Finally, on the 10th time. I just took his picture. The battle will resume tomorrow.
