9 Months Old

Parker is officially nine months old! I have mixed emotions about this. I am very excited about all the new "tricks" he is doing, but I also realize that this is the last "milestone age" until the big ONE YEAR OLD. My baby is becoming a big boy. I'm getting choked up just typing about it.
His nine month well-baby checkup yielded these stats: 21 lbs and 30.5 inches. He is still "off the charts," but is leveling out in the weight area. Must be all that crawling. In other news, Parker has decided he is done with nursing. He just quit cold turkey and hasn't looked back. This wasn't so good for my supply of course and now...we are using formula. It hurt me worse than it hurt him. I cried when I gave him the first bottle of formula after nearly 40 minutes of unsuccessful pumping. As I stood there in tears...Parker downed the bottle in 10 seconds flat. The boy will eat....regardless. After a grieving period...I'm feeling quite librated by the formula experience and I keep telling myself that I made it longer breastfeeding than most folks.
We met up with our best friend Cindy Stansberry for a portrait session to mark Parker's 9 month milestone. Once again, she took some awesome pictures. It is even more impressive this time since Parker decided to be a "crabby pants" and not smile. The kid is all giggles and grins any other time but not when Mommy wants some cute pictures!! What a Weekend!

I'm still recouperating from this past weekend! It was a doozy! Friday night was Relay for Life here in Griffin. My school always participates and we were out again to help find a cure for cancer. Parker and his friend Max had a blast. They LOVE each other as you can tell from the pictures. Then, Saturday morning I left with my buddy Ivy for Charleston. We met up with Casting Crowns at the Women of Joy concert. We spent the day with the band and then had VIP passess to their concert Saturday night. It was truly an awesome experience. It was more of a worship service than a concert. We boarded the tour bus at midnight and headed home! I slept (suprisingly well) on the top bunk! We got home at 7AM Sunday morning and I headed to church at 9! Mamaw came in Friday night to keep Parker and is here for the rest of the week. Grandmamma and Granddaddy are moving into a new house here in Griffin, so Mamaw is here to give Grandmamma a break! WHEW! What a weekend!!!
How cute is he?Parker, Mommy, Max, and Aunt Ivy at Relay!
Max and Parker love each other. They like to

Happy Mother's Day!

Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Oh Lord...Thank you for this calling. Thank you for Parker. Thank you for my mother and for my mother-in-law who have set such great examples for me. I strive to be the Godly mother you've called me to be!

We had Mother's Day Dinner with Granmamma and Grandaddy tonight. Parker was so well behaved in the nice resturant. I was so proud. Here are some pictures! (Stay tuned for a new video below...)Video: This one has nothing to do with Mother's Day...but I've been telling everyone how cute it is and I'm afraid if I don't get it up soon, I will be in big trouble! Parker's new thing is opening and closing doors. Don't worry about the crying at the end...he just scared himself by closing the door...no finger smashing.....yet.

No, No, No

As you could probably tell from the previous posts, Parker is quickly learning the word "No!" He hears it alot these days! Last night, as he started crawling toward the laptop...I said "No, No, No" and shook my head. Parker looked at me and shook his head back!!! I about fell in the floor, it was so stinking cute. Of course, I quickly grabbed the camera! Unfortunately, due to my reaction, he now thinks it is funny when we say No, No, No....We will work on that.
