Impromptu Party!

I have to start this post by saying that I LOVE my family. I am so thankful, not only for my wonderful family, but for my in-laws as well. I am so blessed to have married into such an awesome family that loves me and treats me like their own!

Last Sunday afternoon, Uncle Tim and Aunt Sharon called to say they were headed home to Valdosta from Atlanta and wanted to see if they could stop in and say hey. Of course they can! Dan and Ann (Grandmamma and Grandaddy) and Aunt Beth and Uncle Ike all came over to say hey as well. Uncle Tim mentioned that all we needed was some homemade ice cream and we would have ourselves a party! So, he and Joshua loaded up and headed to Piggly Wiggly to secure the necessary ingredients and the churn was turning! The only thing I had to offer a group of this size was turkey sandwiches, but a quick call to Pappa Johns solved this problem! Knowing that our dear cousin Forrest LOVES family gatherings and homemade ice cream, Joshua called him to let him know we were living it up without him that we missed him. We ate and laughed and talked and just enjoyed our impromptu party. Then, a knock came on the door and in walks Forrest and his new fiance Rita! They drove from Atlanta because Forrest just can't miss a family party! We all got to see Rita's beautiful ring and discuss wedding plans! It was such a great night!
